Saved My Mom when Nursing Home was Not an Option - Testimonial |
My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Syndrome. A nursing home was not an option. Although she could no longer care for herself physically, she was still aware mentally and would become depressed if confined to a facility. Her doctor said that, for her well-being, my mother should receive custodial care in her familiar surroundings at home.
My mother's HMO and Medicare did not cover the 24 hour/7day-a-week home care that she needed. It was very fortunate that her long-term care insurance picked up most of the cost of the HHA provided by an expensive certified private agency.
By the time that her insurance payments were about to expire, the family was frantically searching for a way to replace the home care that we had all come to depend upon. At that point, I remembered her estate attorneys. It was years since our last contact, but I decided to call for advice.
Attorney Karen Mancuso, Jack Lippmann, and other staff members took the time to take my calls and explain, in clear and simple language, the steps that I had to take. They provided me with exact details and were always patient and pleasant – never condescending or abrupt. As a result of their help, I was able to enroll my mother in the Medicaid program and secure full at-home service for her at very low cost.
The law firm of Lamson & Cutner saved my mom, and my entire family, from an enormous burden. We are not wealthy people, but I feel that hiring this firm was one of the best investments that my mother ever made! They worked with me for months during the grueling process; I am sure that my success was due entirely to their guidance. I will always be grateful for what they did for us!
